A headset? Yes please!

Well, it seems the bug I wrote about in my previous post “A headset? No thank you!” has somehow corrected itself. Not that I know how or why, but suddenly my Nokia N8 will now play videos perfectly when connected to my Nokia BH-504 bluetooth stereo headset. My apologies for being so harsh, but I’d [...]

A headset? No thank you!

How and why a Nokia phone won’t play videos when connected to a Nokia bluetooth headset while an iPod can I do not know. I find it very, very strange. It works with the Nokia music player, it works with Spotify – both on the Nokia and on the iPod – and it works on the Macbook, it does not work with a video on the Nokia N8 handset.

MiniReview: MobileKnox for Nokia

After moving just about everything else from my iPod Touch to my N8 I’ve been looking for a secure password/credit card/login credential storage app like mSecure for iOS. I ignored Best Safe due to bad reviews, tried Mr. Safe and missed a synch/backup feature, and now I’ve tried MobileKnox. It might have the power to [...]

Finally – WordPress for Nokia has reached the N8

I am truly happy. WordPress has finally reached the new Nokia N8. Ever since I tried out mobile blogging with my old Nokia N95 I’ve been looking for an app that actually has all the features required for real blogging. Unlimited text fields (who would have expected that to be an issue), post, page and [...]

Nokia N97 mini beta?

A while ago I wrote a bunch of posts on how happy I was with my new Nokia N97 mini. Granted, I had some trouble getting WordPress installed, but that was a software problem. Not a phone problem. Well, now I’m not so happy any more. For the past week or so the phone has [...]

A webhotel for me?

I have had this website for some years now, and as far as I can remember it has resided at the same host since it’s birth. It is a provider with servers in Norway and the provide me with just about all the services I need. Storage, data transfer, ftp uploads, email, subdomains, URL forwarding, PHP and CGI, and shell access. I believe I can even get a dedicated IP and set up SSL if I am so inclined. The only problem is that everything is limited. I am capped at 500 mb of storage and I have only two MySQL databases to play around with. This means that I’m hosting almost all the services I am running on the same database, and I am now running with approximately 20% free space. In short: Not good!

Not a single provider has stepped up to Google’s or Twitter’s plate and presented itself to me as the shiny, golden solution to all my online desires. And so I ask you this: Is there a webhotel out there for me or am I forced to chose between expensive and far away?
